Everton fans are overjoyed with latest comments from manager Carlo Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti has claimed he would like to remain as Everton manager for as long as possible, which has received a hugely excited response on Twitter by a wave of the club’s fans.
The Italian boss was asked about his future at Goodison Park in a press conference on Thursday and admitted he would love to be around for the move to a new stadium.
It was announced this week that Everton’s proposed new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium received unanimous support from Liverpool City Council, which means the Toffees could move ground in time for the 2024/25 season, if the stadium gains government approval.
Ancelotti has already done a great job becoming a real favourite with supporters, especially as his side won at Anfield on the weekend in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.
His team are seventh in the Premier League table as it stands and remain in the hunt for an unlikely Champions League spot this season.
The 61-year-old manager gave his response when asked if he’d like to stay in charge beyond his current deal, with is due to expire in 2024.
“I would like to be there when the new stadium opens, it will be a good achievement for me of course!” Ancelotti said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“I think to finish the contract here until 2024 means that you did a good job, and when you did a good job the contract will not be stopped in 2024, I think it continues.
“So for sure I think that for the time that I’ve spent here, I felt and I feel good. I would like to stay as long as possible.”

A selection of Everton supporters on social media are thrilled with the manager’s comments and believe he can really help the club move forward.
He’s one of the most high-profile managers in the game right now and his experience means he’s been in charge at the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Juventus and AC Milan.
Here are some Everton fans responding to Ancelotti’s comments:
What a better way to end your managerial career than taking a fallen giant back to the top when everyone said he was the wrong man for the job!
