Everton are reportedly leading the chase to sign Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck in the summer – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are not pleased with the speculation.
The 28-year-old has been with the Gunners since 2014, but is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.
According to the Evening Standard, Everton are in pole position to snap up Welbeck on a free transfer this summer.
The report details they could beat the likes of West Ham, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers to him.
It’s also explained that the Toffees may improve his wages on the current £100,000-a-week deal he’s currently got at Arsenal.
Welbeck has missed the majority of the campaign with a serious ankle injury and it means he’s played just 14 times this season across all competitions.
The English centre-forward netted 10 goals in 43 games for the Gunners during the 2017/18 campaign, but injury problems have occurred frequently in his career.
A selection of Everton fans have made it clear they don’t believe Welbeck would add much next season at Goodison Park and would rather they stay clear.
He’s proven at Premier League level and has 16 goals in 42 senior England caps, but the grey area over him is clearly the injury problems.
Here are some Everton fans that are raging with the Welbeck speculation:

I wouldnt have him if his wages were £0 and if Arsenal paid us £10million to have him. Waste of space, not gonna get us anywhere.

He’s never scored over 10 goals in a season I swear

No one is paying £25m for Welbeck.
As an Everton fan, I don’t even want him on a free. Injury prone, poor goals record, expensive wages, nor a number 9, or 10, or winger. Just a steady Eddie journeyman.
