Everton’s under-23’s drew 1-1 with PSV Eindhoven in Southport this evening in the Premier League International Cup.
David Unsworth named a strong side for the fixture but also pulled in under-18 talent Tyler Onyango to add some guile to their midfield.
He played a role in the opening goal, but it was Anthony Gordon who scored it, with Dennis Adeniran playing the final pass. Unfortunately, Maxime Soulas scrambled home a 90th-minute equaliser for the Dutch side.
Everton fans will not be surprised to hear that Gordon was again pivotal.

The England under-19 international has been in fantastic form for Everton’s youngsters this season and plenty of fans have been calling for him to get a first-team chance under Marco Silva.
Indeed, plenty of Everton fans were left disappointed that Gordon was again overlooked for the first-team fixture against Watford in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.
The 18-year-old’s goal was not the only highlight of his performance. Gordon was sensational throughout and left the PSV defence scrambling on numerous occasions with his excellent change of pace and trickery.
With Bernard now set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury, it is hard to see Gordon not getting his first-team chance soon based on current form.
These fans certainly hope so.
