Watford winger Gerard Deulofeu has shared how Liverpool duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Virgil van Dijk took an interest in his health as he recovers from an ACL injury, in conversation with the club website.
The former Everton ace had to be stretchered off in the first half of the Hornets’ 3-0 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side at the end of February.
The following Monday, it was confirmed that Deulofeu suffered a ruptured ACL and torn meniscus, and had surgery in Barcelona last month, with the operation performed by Doctor Monllau.

The 26-year-old is currently living with his physiotherapist in Spain in a bid to return from his knee injury as quickly as possible and in top physical shape.
In an interview with the Watford website, Deulofeu shed light on the contact he’s had with Oxlade-Chamberlain, who he described as a “really good guy”, and Van Dijk.
“I knew Oxlade-Chamberlain before as Héctor Bellerín is my teammate with the Under-21s and sometimes I went to his home and we go together with Alex,” said Deulofeu.
“He suffered this injury twice and he sent me a message. He’s a really good guy and a lot guys who have suffered this type of injury can help you. I am asking all the time, ‘What I have to do?’ and ‘What do you feel?’.
“Van Dijk also sent a message to Troy. And he sent a message to me. After two days, I answered him and it [the tackle] wasn’t on purpose. It was a typical action in England and I have nothing to say. I just keep going and I’m going to be back.”
TBR View:
Deulofeu may be playing for one of Everton’s Premier League rivals but he remains well loved by the Goodison faithful.
When he suffered his injury, Everton’s official Twitter page, plus plenty of Toffees fans, took to social media to wish a speedy and full recovery.
It’s good to see him on the mend and equally good to know that two Liverpool players have been taking an interest in his health and wellbeing following his injury in Watford’s thrilling win against the Premier League leaders.
