Everton have been linked with a move for coveted Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the Toffees are the latest English team to be keen on the Ivorian speedster, who is valued at around €65 million/£58.5 million.
Pepe had an amazing season in 2018/19, making 41 appearances and scoring 23 goals, He also managed to lay on 12 assists.
A host of big clubs have been credited with an interest in Pepe, who is set to leave Lille this summer after manager Christophe Galtier confirmed so in an interview with Canal+ earlier this year (via Mirror).
If Everton are to somehow pull off this transfer, it would be a huge statement of intent.
Pepe is absolutely a player Marco Silva could do with, with the team struggling at times in the attacking third last term.
Richarlison had a good campaign, but support was often lacking from the wide men – although Bernard improved a lot in the second half of the season.
Pepe’s frightening pace and dribbling make him a nightmare opponent for defenders, and his ability to finish is an added bonus.
Everton will have to break their transfer record to get him, but Marcel Brands could give his club a real shot at Europe if he somehow seals a deal.
