Aside from 16 minutes in a Carabao Cup game against Lincoln City, Everton striker Cenk Tosun is yet to really make his mark on the 2019/20 campaign.
The Turkish striker is still a mainstay in the national team, however, and proved his worth last night.
His country secured a 4-0 thrashing of Moldova to sit second in Group H, level on points with France and three ahead of Iceland.

The 28-year-old netted twice during the rout and highlighted that he is still capable of knowing where the back of the net is.
Tosun arrived at Everton from Besiktas for £27 million back in 2018 (Sky Sports). He was seen as a player who could have a big impact under boss Sam Allardyce.
A change in the manager’s office meant disaster for Tosun, however, and the striker found himself on the periphery last season, starting just 10 games.
This season he is yet to get on the pitch in the Premier League. He has featured in three matchday squads but being tasked with making an impact has proved tricky.

More goals on the international stage won’t have gone unnoticed in Marco Silva’s eyes and it remains to be seen if he might have played his way into the team.
Following his brace last night, we looked at some Everton supporter reaction regarding Tosun:
