Everton have been linked with a move for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso this summer.
The Sun suggested earlier this month that Betis could sell the player after securing his permanent option from PSG.
The report claimed Betis would look for double the fee they paid for him, valuing the 23-year-old at £43 million. El Desmarque in Spain also suggested Everton are interested in the Argentine talent.
Of course this news should excite Everton fans. Lo Celso is an extremely talented player who would add immense quality to the Everton midfield.

However, reports this week regarding Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in the player surely end any interest from Everton.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Spurs have made an approach for the player. The value of their transfer offer is reported to be in the region of £53 million. That has been rejected, leaving Everton already scrambling to get anywhere near a fee to sign the player.
In fact, according to the report, Betis want £88 million and are not willing to sell for anything less.
That price-tag simply rules Everton out of the running. It would make Lo Celso the sixth most expensive player of all time and as financially sound as Everton might be, that sort of fee is way out of their ball-park.
Everton will need to look elsewhere for more affordable midfield improvements this summer.
