Everton are reportedly interested in a move for Italian youngster Riccardo Sottil. That is according to a report from Calciomercato this weekend.
They suggest that Carlo Ancelotti wants Everton to monitor the player as a potential future recruit. The report does not suggest whether such a deal would take place this summer or further down the line.
Instead, it simply seems that Everton will be tracking the player.
Sottil will be known to one of the current Everton squad. Moise Kean is a regular in the Italian under-21s alongside the Fiorentina attacker.

In recent months, the 20-year-old attacker has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur. The Express reported in September 2019 that Spurs had been scouting the player after an impressive loan spell at Pescara.
TBR’s View
A deal this summer for Sottil would seem unlikely. The youngster only signed a contract extension in Florence until 2024 last month. His father Andrea Sottil, a former Fiorentina player, also hinted to Italian radio last month, as reported by TMW, that his son had no immediate plans to leave the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
But Everton would undoubtedly be wise to keep tabs on a player who is highly-rated in Ancelotti’s homeland.
This summer might come too soon, but he could prove to be a good recruit later down the line.
