Everton have fended off interest from Italian giants AC Milan for young winger Ademola Lookman, according to the Daily Mirror.

They report that the San Siro club have enquired about the young English winger but have been knocked back by Marco Silva, who still sees him as part of his Goodison Park plans.

The Toffees apparently have big plans for Lookman and have no intention of offloading him but Milan have not been put off and are readying another swoop.

But the former Charlton made has failed to permanently dislodge Theo Walcott in Everton’s starting eleven this season and Silva give Lookman the opportunity to show why he is seen as a major part of Everton’s future.

Everton stopped the rot on the road with a win over Huddersfield last night, but their attack has started to falter of late.

Silva needs to show that he can build something that lasts longer than six months; his two previous Premier League jobs have not lasted an entire season but Everton need stability and for something sustainable to be built.

Part of that will be nurturing the host of young talent on the books at Goodison and Lookman is chief among them.
