Burnley winger Dwight McNeil has commented on his future, amid transfer speculation (TEAMtalk) linking him with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton.
The teenager has insisted he isn’t taking any notice of what manager Sean Dyche calls ‘outside’ noise, and that he wants to keep his head down at Turf Moor.
McNeil has shown some decent form for the Clarets since making his debut in the final game of the 2017/18 Premier League season against Bournemouth.

In 39 first-team appearances for the club, he’s scored four goals and made eight assists, and his direct style has caught people’s attention.
As well as Wolves and Everton, Newcastle United, Leciester City and Manchester United have all been linked, but McNeil appears to be content where he is for now.
He said (Mirror): “The gaffer [Dyche] just calls it ‘outside noise’.
“I’ve got to focus on my football and if that comes around it comes around in time. The lads here and the gaffer try to keep me level-headed and help me keep my feet on the ground.

“I think the most important thing is for me to concentrate on my football and see where that takes me in the future. You can’t get too far ahead of yourself because I’m still 19, I’m still young, I’m learning and I’m still maturing as a person and a player. We’ll just have to see what happens.
“My aim is to keep playing every week. All I want to do is play football for Burnley. I just want to keep playing and keep improving.”
TBR’s view – One for the future
It’s a level-headed response from McNeil, who appears to understand the value of playing regularly at his age.
Still only 19, there is plenty of time in his career for him to move to a bigger club and Turf Moor is a good environment right now in which to develop.
