Bolasie sees Premier League future

On-loan Everton winger Yannick Bolasie has told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad that he doesn’t know what the future holds, following his loan spell with Anderlecht.

The 29-year-old has hinted at a return to the Premier League though.

It was perhaps something of a surprise that Bolasie wasn’t given a chance in the first team under Marco Silva.

The Toffees were in awful form when he returned from Aston Villa, but he was sent back on loan instead.

When quizzed on his future, Bolasie told Het Nieuwsbald: “I have no idea what the future holds but I still have two years left at Everton.

“I see myself as a Premier League player. In the meantime I am learning, my family is having a good time and I enjoy it.”

Liverpool man expecting tough Goodison test

The Reds midfielder Gigi Wijnaldum says he expects a ‘big fight’ in Sunday’s game at Goodison Park between Everton and Liverpool.

Both sides warmed up in the best possible fashion. The Toffees beat Cardiff 3-0, whilst Liverpool stayed top with a 5-0 hammering of Watford.

The in-form Dutch midfielder told Sky Sports: “I expect that it will be a big fight. It was a good game the last time we played them.

“I don’t expect them to be less motivated than they were before.”

Everton will be looking to get revenge on their fierce rivals following their stoppage-time defeat at Anfield in December.

Sporting Lisbon performer linked

Everton are interested in securing the summer transfer of Bruno Fernandes, according to reports in Portugal.

Record are stating that Marco Silva is set to raid his homeland during the close season, with the midfielder high on his list of priorities.

Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old who has netted 21 goals from midfield this season.

Winger received consent from former Toffee before switch

Back to Bolasie, and he has revealed to Het Nieuwsbald who he spoke to prior to agreeing on a switch to Belgian giants Anderlecht.

The 29-year-old told the publication that he asked Romelu Lukaku for advice ahead of the move.

He said: He said last summer that I shouldn’t go to Aston Villa and I did it anyway.

“When I asked him about Anderlecht, he said: Go! I haven’t doubted from the moment he gave me the green light.”
