Romelu Lukaku doesn’t look motivated
It isn’t a surprise that Romelu Lukaku has stopped scoring goals and Everton have stopped winning games. The two are intrinsically linked and Ronald Koeman needs to find a way to get his leading man back to scoring ways. Against Manchester United, he didn’t look motivated and that is a huge problem for Koeman. Since the international break, he has failed to score a goal and has picked up two bookings, which shows the frustration that is entering his game.
Koeman has stated publicly that Lukaku needs to leave Everton in order to fulfil his potential and that is looking to be an accurate summery. Although the Toffees are a huge club, Lukaku has outgrown them and he needs to be playing at the highest level in order to become as good as he can be. As long as he stays at Everton, there will always be runs of form just like this one as he isn’t fully motivated to perform on a weekly basis. His place isn’t under threat and he can afford to drop his performance at times. It is getting to a point where Lukaku leaving Everton could be the best thing for both club and player.
