Sandro Tonali is back in action after his lengthy ban from football.
The Newcastle midfielder made his Premier League return last week for the Magpies, and now, he’s come straight back into the fold for the Italian national team.
Tonali made his return for Italy against France on Friday evening, and it’s fair to say his return was eventful.
Italy came back from 1-0 down to win 3-1 against France, and Tonali played a key role in his team’s comeback.

Eurosport shared their verdict on Tonali’s first game in 12 months, giving him a 7.5 rating out of 10.
“A great return. He returns to the national team and provides the back-heel assist for Dimarco’s shot that makes it 1-1. Together with Ricci, he manages to make up for the greater French quality in the middle of the pitch with substance. He is already essential and his absence in the last year has been underestimated,” They wrote.

Tonali looks like he’s barely been away, and that is a testament to his ability and the determination he has shown during his absence.
The midfielder is ready to make a difference to Newcastle this season, and he could be a key player for Eddie Howe’s side as they look to finish in the top four once again this season.
