TBR Football understands that Joshua Zirkzee is ready to leave Manchester United in January, and Ruben Amorim’s side are willing to sanction a loan move
The Dutch international is keen to go in search of regular first-team football in the second half of the season, and there are several clubs keen on him.
Man United signed Zirkzee for £34 million in the summer of 2024, however, he struggled to really settle at Old Trafford.
So far this season, under Ruben Amorim, he’s played just 90 minutes of football across all competitions, and he is now gearing up to leave.

Sources: Roma make Man United’s Joshua Zirkzee their number one target
AS Roma have made Joshua Zirkzee their number one target for the January transfer window, sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.
The Italian club are already thinking about sending Evan Ferguson back to Brighton and Hove Albion to make room for the Manchester United striker.
TBR Football revealed last week that other Serie A and Premier League clubs are also keen on Zirkzee, with Everton and West Ham United among those options.
But TBR Football understands that Roma are now pushing hard and they are looking to make room for him by sending Ferguson back to England.
Speaking about the striker’s situation, Bailey told TBR Football: “We are told that Roma are now looking at the mechanisms to send the Irishman back to Brighton, which would enable them to bring in a new front-man, and Zirkzee is their favoured choice.
“Zirkzee is set to move and the interest in him is very strong, he can stay in England, has options back in Italy as we have revealed, but there are teams in Spain, France and Germany too – he really is going to have his pick.
“United are going to sanction it, they really like his attitude and commitment, but given the summer arrivals of Cunha, Sesko and Mbeumo, they all realise he is way down the pecking order.
“The Red Devils want him to go to the World Cup next summer, and the only chance is for him to play next year.”
Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha both found themselves on the scoresheet against Brighton and looked thoroughly impressive.
Benjamin Sesko is also starting to find his feet at Old Trafford, meaning that there is no longer room for Zirkzee to start.
Gary Neville hails Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha’s performances vs Brighton
Gary Neville believes that Mbuemo and Cunha’s performances against Brighton showed that the pair are finally starting to fully settle at United.
Mbeumo also impressed against Liverpool and added a brace against the Seagulls on Saturday evening.
Speaking after the 4-2 win, Neville told Sky Sports: “I think in Mbeumo and Cunha, I think the risk was removed from those signings in the sense that they’ve been in the Premier League before and they’ve got that hunger to deliver at a different level.
“There were a lot of things about those signings that you felt more comfortable with, and I think that when I look at United now with Mbeumo, I think when he looks like he belongs, he looks hungry, looks like he wants to score goals.
“It wasn’t quite happening for him and Cunha in the first maybe four or five matches when, you know, they were getting into the positions they always wanted the ball, but they weren’t maybe taking their chances.
“But I think Manchester United have got something to build and if those two can stay up front and live up front in those spaces and the other eight or nine players in the team can just be the foundation for them and sort of keep more clean sheets and defend well.
“Those two will win a lot of football matches for this club. Of course, new ground that we’re we’re treading here under Ruben Amorim.”
