Euro 2020: Manchester City, Liverpool and Spurs stars named in Leeds man's dream five-a-side team
Ahead of the competition, both Roberts and Pascal Struijk were asked to put together a dream five-a-side using a host of names from the tournament.
Roberts – who is part of the Wales squad – included a number of Premier League players in his side.
In goal, the 22-year-old snubbed the likes of Jordan Pickford and Thibaut Courtois for Spurs skipper Lloris.
He went on to pick Sergio Ramos in defence. Unfortunately however, Ramos is not involved in Luis Enrique’s squad.
His countryman, Thiago is there this summer. And he has also been included in Roberts’ lineup.
Foden was the next player mentioned. Interestingly, the Manchester City starlet got the nod ahead of Roberts’ own Wales teammate Gareth Bale.
And following the inclusion, Roberts explained what impressed him so much about the City star.
“He’s great out of possession, he works hard,” he told Leeds’ YouTube channel. “Done ridiculously well this season and deserves every plaudit that he’s getting.
“Great on the ball, scoring goals, making goals. Just plays with freedom and I think his manager Pep allows him to do that. For him to be doing what he’s doing, he’s obviously working very hard which I respect.”
Lastly, Cristiano Ronaldo was named up front by Roberts.
Thiago and Foden already shaping up to be key men at Euro 2020
Foden showed glimpses of his quality as England beat Croatia at Wembley.
Meanwhile, Thiago looked incredibly impressive after coming on in Spain’s draw with Sweden.
But of course, the early signs hint that Lloris may stand the best chance of getting his hands on the trophy.
The France squad is absolutely outrageous on paper. And obviously, they go into the tournament as World Cup holders.
Should they get out of their group, they have an amazing chance. And Roberts may be vindicated for his pick.
