A number of Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to express their disbelief at one decision made during Wales’ final group game at Euro 2020.

Robert Page’s men are through to the knockout stages after securing four points in their group. In truth, they had put more than one foot in the knockout stages after beating Turkey in their second fixture.

Their final game pitted them against Italy. Victory for the Welsh would have seen them book a ticket to Wembley for their last 16 tie.

Defeat meanwhile, would have left the door open for Switzerland to potentially push them into third place. And while four points should be enough for a third place team to get through, it would have created a little uncertainty over the coming days.

Roberto Mancini’s side did take a first-half lead. And that ultimately set the stage for a decision that Leeds supporters could not quite understand.

Despite having five substitutions to use, Page never turned to Tyler Roberts as Wales looked for an equaliser.

Roberts is yet to play a single minute in this tournament. And many Leeds fans are baffled that he did not feature on Sunday.

The 22-year-old was excellent at times for Leeds in the final months of last season. And many clearly think that he should have got a chance against Italy.
