Eunan O’Kane hailed reported Leeds United transfer target Ryan Fraser as a ‘dream’ to play with

Leeds United are being linked with a potential move for free agent winger Ryan Fraser this summer.

The Scotland international allowed his contract with Bournemouth to expire this summer in hope of a move to a Champions League team.

However, no such move has materialised. His disappointing form last season as well as a reported (The Times) £100,000-a-week wage demands has hampered his chances of such a move. Now, as reported by 90min, Leeds, among others, are now looking to capitalise.

Fraser may not have had his best season in 2019-20 but the year before he was one of the outstanding players in the bottom half of the Premier League. His eight goals and 15 assists the previous campaign is what caught the eye of big-name clubs.

If Leeds were to bring him in, there is one forgotten member of the Leeds roster who would be delighted.

He is currently on loan at Luton Town but the Republic of Ireland international is a former team-mate of Fraser’s at the Vitality Stadium.

Speaking in 2013, months after Fraser had joined the Cherries from Aberdeen, O’Kane had massive praise for the tricky winger.

“Ryan has got the world at his feet,” O’Kane told BBC Radio Solent. “He has taken him time to settle, but he has learnt a lot in the six months he has been here.

“For me he is a dream. I just give him the ball and stand behind him and let him do what he does. He is an outlet and can run with the ball and gives us a different option.”

Leeds United currently have decent wide options in both Jack Harrison and Helder Costa whilst utility men Stuart Dallas and Gjanni Alioski provide cover. However, an extra wide option for the Premier League might be a shrewd addition to the current Leeds crop.

O’Kane’s former team-mate might just be the option Leeds need to give them an extra attacking spark in the top-flight.
