ESPN pundit shocked at what Wolves’ Yerson Mosquera did to Man United’s Lisandro Martinez on international duty

Wolverhampton Wanderers haven’t had the best of starts to their Premier League campaign, and the same can be said for Manchester United.

Wolves are yet to get their first win under their belt after three games, with a point against Nottingham Forest last time out their only one on the board.

Gary O’Neil managed to secure the services of Andre late on in the summer transfer window, which will certainly help tighten things up in the defensive third.

Meanwhile, Manchester United fans are beginning to turn on Erik ten Hag after an embarrassing display against Liverpool last time out.

The Red Devils sit 14th in the table with two losses and the solitary win against Fulham.

Interestingly, it was Wolves who got one up over United over the international break as a player from each side went head-to-head.

ESPN pundit says Wolves’ Yerson Mosquera ‘dunked on’ Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez

Wolves had Yerson Mosquera away with Colombia during the international break, and they happened to come up against Lisandro Martinez‘s Argentina in the World Cup qualifiers.

Colombia ended up winning the game 2-1 but there was one moment in the game in particular which caught the eye of onlookers.

Ale Moreno couldn’t believe what he saw on ESPN FC’s YouTube channel, as Yerson Mosquera towered above Martinez to head home Colombia’s first.

“‘In a corner kick they say Lisandro Martinez, Yerson Mosquera. That ball got hung up at the back post and he dunked on him.

“I mean he left him behind, dunked on him. And you’re thinking, how does that make sense.”

How have Mosquera and Martinez fared so far this season?

Yerson Mosquera has been one of the shining lights for Wolves so far this season in what has been a rather disappointing campaign.

The Colombian received a 7.2 rating from SofaScore for his performance against Nottingham Forest, which saw him make three interceptions, three blocks, one clearance and win five duels.

Martinez has enjoyed a solid start to the season and was a standout performer against Fulham on the opening day of the Premier League season, but he had a day to forget against Liverpool.
