‘Erratic’ player no longer training with his club after links to West Ham

A rumoured West Ham target has reportedly left pre-season training with his club in order to organise a transfer this summer.

The Irons have been one of the more busier sides in the summer transfer window this year, with the east London spending big to sign Max Kilman from Wolves as West Ham currently push to sign Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

With West Ham also closing in on Germany star Niclas Fullkrug, the next few weeks could be productive for the Irons, who heading into the new Premier League season will be aiming for a return to Europe under Julen Lopetegui.

And another target could be close to a move to east London.

West Ham target Oumar Solet no longer in RB Salzburg training

According to the Salzburger Nachrichten, RB Leipzig defender Oumar Solet has left pre-season training to focus on his future, with West Ham linked with a move for the 24-year-old center-back in recent weeks.

Sporting director Bernhard Seonbuchner said on the rumoured interest in Solet: “Yes, there are a few rumours that we will not comment on. There are certainly a few things moving, but there is nothing major to report in terms of transfers at the moment.”

Noted in the report as an ‘erratic’ defender, the French center-back has been a regular with the Austrian giants for the past four years since joining from Olympique Lyonnais, with Solet seemingly set for a move this summer.

And with the 24-year-old now out of Salzburg training, there’s a real chance that a move to West Ham could now be on the cards, with Solet a player who could thrive in east London with the Hammers.

West Ham’s defence could be outstanding next season

With West Ham spending big to sign Kilman, it’s clear that Lopetegui has set out an action plan to improve the Irons’ defence for the upcoming season, and the addition of Solet could make the Hammers quietly brilliant at the back.

A strong and table defence is what’s needed if West Ham are to return to Europe next season, with the London Stadium side showing last year that they already have the firepower needed to take on the best the Premier League has to offer.

Yet additions at the back could be huge in West Ham taking the step back into Europe, with the Hammers making the right moves this summer to shore up the backline.
