Tottenham are growing more nervous about the contract situation of Christian Eriksen, who has just 18 months left on his existing deal, according to the Evening Standard.
They report that Eriksen was offered a new deal by the club last month but the Dane is stalling on signing it, and the presence of Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona loitering around is making Spurs increasingly twitchy.
Eriksen is apparently on £75,000 per week and would expect that salary to at least be doubled to the £150,000 a week mark that Dele Alli’s new deal reportedly earns him.
But given that Eriksen is older and more consistent – this new deal would potentially keep him at Spurs into his 30s – he deserves to be on even more than Alli.

Harry Kane’s new deal is reportedly worth £200,000 a week and Eriksen is so important to Tottenham that he should expect to be on similar money if he commits his long-term future to Spurs.
There are not too many elite playmakers around with Eriksen’s work ethic and even fewer who are in Tottenham’s price range.
So given that Eriksen is reportedly settled in London, it is now down to Daniel Levy to offer him as much as he can responsibly afford to underline his ever-growing importance to what Tottenham are trying to build.
