Although there’s a ton of problems to sort at the club, many beyond Erik ten Hag, there is an opportunity for Manchester United to help their situation in January.
A 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth yesterday completed a week that perfectly encapsulates United at present.

A team capable of nullifying an improving Chelsea team under Mauricio Pochettino, but one that then makes Old Trafford an open invitation for Bournemouth.
And whilst a lot of things clearly need addressing beyond the playing and coaching staff, it’s certainly a place to make a start.
Moreover, ahead of the January transfer window, United and ten Hag may have the opportunity to achieve a progressive deal at a relatively cut price.
Neither Rasmus Hojlund or Anthony Martial look ready to lead the line for different reasons, and the latter should now be replaced.
And Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah looks the perfect man for the job.
According to reports, Nketiah is seen as available in January, with a price tag of £30m often mentioned in the past.
And although he’s no longer essential for Arsenal, he could be the perfect profile to give Ten Hag’s side a lift.
Manchester United need to add Eddie Nketiah to Erik ten Hag’s squad in January
Not only is Nketiah home-grown, an England international and a model professional, he also had a ton of attributes United are craving on the pitch.
Nketiah is a proven goalscorer capable of pressing at the highest level, and he’s still got room to improve.

Moreover, given how ambitious the 24-year-old is, a move would probably be a welcome one, even to a rival.
The only issue with the transfer may be the cost.
Despite the price tag mentioned above, that fee may quickly change if ten Hag’s United became interested in January.
It would be a bitter sell for Arsenal, a player they have invested so much into.
But it’s clear that Nketiah isn’t the player that project needs right now, highlighting United’s opportunity.
Nketiah would be such a positive character to add to the squad, a player hungry for success.
One that would also allow Rasmus Hojlund to adapt with less scrutiny, a player who has now been concerning Ally McCoist.
There’s a clear opportunity for United to explore, one that they should take seriously as they look to rebuild on and off the field.
