Erik Lamela has given the goal scored by Eric Dier in Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season friendly a 10/10 rating, with the Argentinian responding to Harry Kane’s Instagram post asking for feedback on the long-range stunner.
Spurs kicked off their tour of South Korea with a 6-3 victory over a K-League XI. Kane and Son Heung-min both scored twice for Antonio Conte’s side.

But it was Dier who broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark. The defender produced an amazing finish from outside the box after some superb build-up work.
Dier received possession on the halfway line before bursting through and unleashing a thunderous left-foot effort into the top corner.

It was an outstanding goal from the defender, and a reminder of the quality he possesses going forward. Dier has not actually scored a goal for Tottenham in any of the last three campaigns.
And it prompted Kane to take to social media to rate the effort along with Matt Doherty.
Doherty harshly gave the goal a 7.7 rating, while Kane was much more impressed, suggesting that it was a worthy of an 8.9. Dier meanwhile, refused to rate his own effort.
They subsequently asked for more ratings. The trio did insist that no round numbers could be used. But Dier may not mind making an exception for Lamela.
The former Tottenham star was extremely complimentary of the strike…

Dier picking up where he left off with stunning goal for Tottenham
Obviously, the opposition were not the best. But Dier standing out is an encouraging sign after an amazing spell under Antonio Conte.
Many were probably tempted to laugh when Conte said early in his tenure that Dier could be one of the world’s best in his position. But that claim certainly does not look outlandish now, by any means.
And an impressive showing in the opening game of pre-season is a real positive ahead of the new season.
