Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Bournemouth’s David Brooks at the end of the season.
According to the Mirror, Spurs want to beat Manchester United to the winger’s signature with a major £50million bid in the summer.
Mauricio Pochettino could unearth a gem in the 21-year-old and he could be a brilliant addition for the North London club.
Brooks, 21, has dazzled in the Premier League this season and is proving why he’s already got nine senior Wales caps.
The attacker has scored six goals and supplied four assists in the league already this campaign for Bournemouth, which included a brilliant display when his side dismantled Chelsea 4-0.
He is immense potential to be a huge player for Spurs if they manage to add him in the next transfer window, but it would crank up competition for places even more.
Erik Lamela is likely to suffer if Spurs do sign Brooks and it would be no surprise to see him overtake him in the pecking over eventually.
Spurs’ left-footed ace is an extremely inconsistent player within Pochettino’s side and Brooks could be seen as an upgrade on him.
Lamela does have the quality on his day to be a menace in the attacking third and he’s got an eye for goal, but ultimately he goes missing in too many games.
The 26-year-old has had numerous chances under Pochettino and can’t quite manage to cement a spot in the starting XI.
