Eric Dier has been speaking about his time at Tottenham – where he made a comment about Mauricio Pochettino.
The 30-year-old discussed the Argentine during an interview with The Times.
So, what did Eric Dier say about Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham? Let’s take a look…
Eric Dier hails Mauricio Pochettino
Well, Daniel Levy famously sacked the South American in November 2019 – just months after he guided Spurs to a UEFA Champions League final.
Dier did not share any thoughts on that particular decision, but still spoke very highly of Pochettino.
The Bayern Munich No.15 said: “We were a very young team, he gave us all great fundamentals in the way that we play. If you look at his first season at Tottenham (2014/15) it was similar to this season at Chelsea; we got to the final of the League Cup, had an OK year in the Premier League (5th). It takes time. It’s a difficult situation. He’s a great manager.”
Dier made 216 appearances under Pochettino, scoring 11 goals while providing nine assists.

Levy’s decision to sack the 52-year-old did not work out, as Tottenham struggled to make much progress under the likes of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo or Antonio Conte.
Only now, the north Londoners are beginning to bounce back with Ange Postecoglou at the helm.
How much Tottenham made from Eric Dier sale
Tottenham sold Dier to Bayern Munich in January after Postecoglou handed him just four Premier League appearances.

The German side paid £3.4m to sign the England international – who has set a new Bundesliga record – according to the Evening Standard.
It means Spurs actually only made a £600,000 loss on Dier after ten years of service, having signed him in a £4m deal from Sporting CP back in 2014.
