Eric Dier has heaped praise on Tottenham star Dele Alli in the aftermath of Sunday’s comprehensive victory over Sheffield United.
The defender spoke with the Daily Mail after the contest and was quizzed on his teammate who was handed a chance to start by Ryan Mason.
Sporting a new hairstyle Alli pretty much ran the show as he offered a timely reminder of his undoubted qualities.

The 25-year-old was perhaps a little bit rusty at times during the contest but he did also offer flashes of brilliance.
It was just his eleventh Premier League outing of the season and he’ll hope for a few more before the season is out.
Dier believes his teammates are well aware of his qualities and stated his delight at seeing him perform well at the weekend.
He told the Daily Mail: “I thought he played really well. From the inside, I can tell you he’s been working really hard and training really well.
“Everyone knows his qualities, but I think he also has a lot of qualities that go unnoticed. The number of second balls he wins, the amount he runs for the team and presses.
“He’s always attached to the game, it’s like he’s on a string to the ball. He is always attached to the game in every moment and that’s a great quality to have.”
TBR View: Alli deserves second Tottenham chance
Had Jose Mourinho utilised the midfielder more often he might not have found himself out of work after just 17 months as Tottenham boss.
Okay, so Alli had been in and out of form but players with obvious talent are worth persisting with.

The £100,000-a-week performer has scored 65 goals and registered 59 assists during 247 appearances for the club and it wasn’t long ago he was scoring in a World Cup quarter-final.
Reinstating Alli could prove to be a masterstroke by Mason and long may his good form continue in the white of Tottenham.
