League One side Reading are reportedly in talks to sign Arsenal academy youngster Zane Monlouis on loan.

The 20-year-old centre-back has been an ever-present in Arsenal’s U-21 side this season, with Monlouis making 14 appearances in all competitions, four of which game in the EFL Trophy.

Lauded by the Daily Cannon as an ‘exciting’ prospect, Monlouis is yet to break into Arsenal’s senior squad despite training with Mikel Arteta’s side on numerous occasions.

And according to the Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel, Reading are now in talks to sign Monlouis on loan, with the defender set for his first taste of professional football.

With Monlouis unlikely to break into Arsenal’s senior team anytime soon, a loan move this window would be a wise idea for the player, especially to a big club such as Reading.

And for the defender, it will be a chance to show the world and Arsenal fans what he is capable of, with Monlouis ready for a real test for the first time in his young career.
