England kitman shares what Tottenham star Harry Kane did moments before kick-off in changing room

Harry Kane finally got his first goal of Euro 2020 on Tuesday evening as England produced a sparkling display to beat Germany 2-0. Goals from Raheem Sterling and the Tottenham striker did the job. Ahead of kick off, England kitman Pat Frost shared what Kane did in the dressing room.

Kane, 27, has come in for plenty of criticism from England fans for his performances so far. Some have even suggested that Gareth Southgate drops him for Dom Calvert-Lewin. But he proved the doubters wrong on Tuesday night, heading home a second after being involved in the first.

Before heading out to greet the England fans, senior England kitman Frost shared on Twitter what Kane did – that left the England side with “goosebumps”. He claims Kane gave a speech for 30 seconds in a huddle before going out – saying that he knew England would win from that point.

Euro 2020: England skipper Kane leadership evident more than ever on Tuesday night

Many know him as a quiet leader. Perhaps not as vocal as the other captains in the squad, Jordan Henderson or Harry Maguire. But on Tuesday night, he showed proper leadership. He lead from the front in the face of negativity from certain sections of the fanbase and media.

In his post-match interview, he looked emotional as he looked at the Wembley crowd. He wore the captain’s armband with pride, with passion and with commitment. On Tuesday evening, we saw Kane’s leadership come to the fore – and it was perfect timing. Perhaps, it is coming home.
