England fans react to performance of Tottenham star Harry Kane

England were dumped out of the Nations League last night after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Belgium, although Tottenham star Harry Kane earned some praise afterwards on Twitter.

The 27-year-old collected his 50th cap for the Three Lions and alongside Jack Grealish, he was comfortably England’s biggest threat against Roberto Martinez’s side.

Kane was often isolated in attack and last night’s result will leave boss Gareth Southgate with far more questions than answers.

Goals from Leicester star Youri Tielemans and a free-kick by Dries Mertens ensured a comfortable night for the nation ranked number one in the world rankings.

England’s game against Iceland at Wembley on Wednesday is now pretty much irrelevant and Southgate might shuffle his pack again.

Kane’s performance last night was one you’d expect from an England captain.

He was busy, determined and with a bit more composure might have scored during the contest.

Kane has 13 goals and 10 assists to his name under Jose Mourino this season and he’s clearly enjoying his football.

The Spurs man has 32 international goals to his name and he’ll hope to get another chance to shine against Iceland on Wednesday.

After last night’s game, supporters took to Twitter to discuss the performance of Kane.

Here is what they were saying about the talisman…
