England roared back from a goal behind against Belgium to win 2-1 and go top of their Nations League group. A Marcus Rashford penalty and a goal from Mason Mount cancelled out Romelu Lukaku’s goal for the visitors.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was handed the chance to lead the line once again, with Harry Kane still nursing the effects of an injury concern.

The Toffees talisman is on fire this season and his nine goals in all competitions for his club have fired Everton to the top of the Premier League and set up an EFL Cup quarter-final with Manchester United.

Calvert-Lewin scored during his first start for England in the friendly against Wales on Thursday night and deserved another chance yesterday.

With Jack Grealish banished to the bench, however, and England setting up more defence-minded, the 23-year-old was often left isolated.

Calvert-Lewin earns £100,000-a-week at Goodison Park and the work he has put in under Carlo Ancelotti is clearly reaping the rewards.

Following Calvert-Lewin’s performance for England, some fans were quick to praise him on social media.

He is enjoying a flying start to 2020/21 and on current form, he’s one of the very best strikers in the country.

Here is a selection of Tweets from England supporters on the Everton striker.
