Mikel Arteta has a few selection issues in his squad right now.
The Arsenal boss just can’t seem to get his team to click right now. The Gunners are now three without a win in the Premier League, and the team looks seriously disjointed.
Ian Wright has said that he’s not happy with how Kai Havertz is being used right now, while there have been suggestions that Declan Rice is also being used in the wrong position.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, Emmanuel Petit has now raised a similar concern about Bernardo Silva.
Indeed, the pundit says that he doesn’t know Trossard’s best position, despite the fact he’s a very versatile player, comparable to Bernardo Silva.

Leandro Trossard compared to Bernardo Silva
Petit shared his verdict on Trossard, comparing him to Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.
The pundit says that he does like the £27m man, but he thinks Mikel Arteta isn’t doing him any favours when changing his position so consistently.
“He reminds me of Silva at City, but Silva for me is a much better player than Trossard. He can play in different positions, but do you know the real position of Trossard?” Petit said.
“I have no idea. I like him. He is a good player, honestly, but, you know, changing position all the time like this just to suit Arteta or the tactics, sometimes, you know, it’s hard to cope with it.”
What is Leandro Trossard’s best position?
Petit says that he can’t figure out what Trossard’s best position is, but the numbers show he has a clear favourite role.
| Leandro Trossard positions | Games | Goals | Assists |
| Left winger | 177 | 58 | 31 |
| Centre forward | 42 | 8 | 9 |
| Attacking midfielder | 40 | 7 | 4 |
| Second striker | 19 | 4 | 4 |
| Left midfielder | 17 | 8 | 3 |
| Right winger | 9 | 2 | 1 |
Trossard has played in so many different positions during his career, but clearly, as the numbers show, he’s best utilised down the left wing.
However, with Martin Odegaard out injured recently, Trossard has been utilsed more often through the centre, either as a striker or an attacking midfielder.
Luckily, with Odegaard now back in action, Trossard should be able to return to play in his favoured left wing position soon, and, fingers crossed, that can help Arsenal rediscover their best form.
Arsenal haven’t been good enough recently, and if this sort of form continues for too much longer, the title race will be over before it ever really got started for Arsenal.
