Emile Smith-Rowe has told Football London that he is desperate to return to Arsenal and become a success at his boyhood club, as he continues to shine on loan at Championship side Huddersfield Town.
Smith-Rowe, 19, joined Danny Cowley’s side in the January window after struggling to get regular game time at Arsenal during the first half of the season – despite scoring three goals in his 12 senior appearances for the Gunners.
Now, the England Under-20 international is thriving at the Yorkshire club, and has had a hand in four goals during his nine Town appearances. Scoring against Fulham, he also created a goal in the 3-2 defeat, before laying on two against Bristol City.
Smith-Rowe sees his long-term future at Arsenal and has a contract at The Emirates until 2023. Asked if he sees himself returning to Arsenal and breaking into the side, Smith-Rowe stated he hopes he is able to be success under Mikel Arteta.
“Am I ready for the Premier League? I hope I am. After this loan hopefully I will be much more confident going back to Arsenal,” Smith-Rowe said. “I’d like to say I can go back and prove to everyone what I can do.”

TBR’s view – Smith-Rowe has got to eye Mesut Ozil void
With Ozil failing to live up to his enormous contract that sees the German take home a whopping £350,000 a week, Smith-Rowe’s form for Huddersfield makes him a prime candidate to take over.
Playing in the 10 role for a side as big as Huddersfield puts a lot of pressure on Smith-Rowe. But he has taken to the challenge, and with Ozil potentially set to leave in the summer – Smith-Rowe could be his replacement.
