As Newcastle United swoop late in the transfer window for Emil Krafth, it is not happy news for everyone at the club. Javier Manquillo will be dreading the Sweden international’s arrival as it could push him closer to the exit door.
Steve Bruce has clearly identified right-back as a weakness. Several full-backs have been linked with a move to Tyneside since Bruce has taken over and Krafth is expected to fix this issue.
Krafth’s arrival casts doubt on the future of DeAndre Yedlin and Manquillo. At least one of these players could leave before the deadline and Manquillo is the most likely candidate.

According to a report by The Chronicle, Newcastle will consider sending Manquillo out on loan. The Spaniard’s contract expires next summer so a loan deal could end his Newcastle career altogether.
Manquillo joined Newcastle in summer 2017 after a season with bitter rivals Sunderland. The 25-year-old had also represented Liverpool in the past and he penned a three-year deal at St James’ Park.
During his time in the North East, Manquillo has played 44 games, providing four assists. But Bruce seems intent on a new direction at right-back. Manquillo might be looking for a new club this summer after Krafth was brought in to replace him.
