Emi Martinez posts two-word reaction to Tyrone Mings' display in Aston Villa win
Emi Martinez labelled Tyrone Mings’s display in Aston Villa’s superb win at Spurs on Wednesday ‘outstanding’ after the defender took to Instagram to comment on the victory.
Dean Smith’s men put their recent run of poor form behind them to secure a brilliant win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
They recovered from going a goal down to turn the game on its head. And in truth, there were only a handful of occasions in which Spurs looked like getting back into the contest.
One of the reasons Villa were able to see out the game was the colossal performances of their defenders.
Mings seemed to be up for the challenge of clearing absolutely anything that went into the Villa penalty area. As shown by Whoscored, he won two aerial duels, made two interceptions and two clearances.
It was a fantastic return to the side for Mings who missed the weekend defeat to Crystal Palace.
And it seems that it was a performance that impressed several of his teammates.
The 28-year-old took to social media following the game to laud the side. And the likes of Ezri Konsa and Kortney Hause were amongst those to reply.
But perhaps the most notable response came from Martinez, with the goalkeeper probably summing up how many fans felt about Mings’s performance…
