Emi Buendia has opened up on reported interest from Arsenal in an interview with South American outlet Radio Residencias – as per the Daily Star – stating that he wants to be back in the Premier League.
Buendia, 24, has caught the attention of Arsenal having starred for Norwich both in the Premier League and in the Championship. This season, he has scored seven goals and created the same amount in assists.
The Independent says Arsenal are trying to engineer a deal for the £40million-rated star, and are even open to including duo Reiss Nelson or Joe Willock in a deal. CBS Sports say ‘informal talks’ have been held.
But Buendia has responded to reports that Arsenal want to sign him from the Carrow Road side and stated that he is desperate to return to the Premier League – but remains focused on playing for Daniel Farke’s side.

“Yes, I always say it,” Buendia said when asked if he wants to play in the Premier League. “It is the best league in the world, it is the one that makes the difference at all levels. I aspire to the best and work every day to get back to it.
“Either my team or a transfer. Returning to the Premier is a dream. There was a lot of talk in the summer, but I always had my head with the club. I belong to Norwich. Tomorrow we will see.”
TBR’s view – Arsenal need Buendia, but price is crucial
Clearly, £40million is enormously expensive for a player that is currently residing in the Championship. Buendia scored one and created seven more in 36 Premier League games last month – and is clearly a top, top player.
He has the resale value, ability and necessary tools to fill the boots of Mesut Ozil – but also boasting the aggression and work rate that the 92-time Germany international lacks. Arsenal need Buendia, but £40million is too much.
