Journalist Ashley Preece has told Birmingham Live that Johan Lange loves Ismaila Sarr and thus, he would expect the Watford winger to be put to Aston Villa boss Unai Emery ahead of the January transfer window.
Perhaps surprisingly, Sarr ended the previous window as a Watford player. But he did come incredibly close to joining the Villans in what would prove to be the final window of Steven Gerrard’s tenure.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Villa agreed a £25 million fee for Sarr. However, the move collapsed over the structure of the deal, as well as personal terms.
Lange loves Ismaila Sarr
Villa ultimately tried to sign him a week later. However, Sarr remained at Vicarage Road. And he has since gone on to score six goals and contribute three assists for the Hornets in the Championship.

Of course, Gerrard has now been replaced by Emery. And it seems that Villa may make a fresh move for the Senegal international.
Preece was asked whether signing the 24-year-old was still possible. And the journalist suggested that Lange is prepared to do all he can to make it happen.
“Sarr still very much a possibility. Johan Lange loves him and will no doubt put him to Unai this time around. Let’s see, eh. One to watch,” he told Birmingham Live.
It would be no surprise to see Sarr attract big offers in January. You would imagine that he will be back in the Premier League one way or another sooner or later.
Villa have made a bright start to life under Emery. But they need more quality out on the left. And Sarr would fill that void.
He has been described as a ‘frightening‘ player. And it was not too long ago that he was scoring from the halfway line away at West Brom.
Watford are in contention for promotion. But they are some way off the summit in the Championship. So Sarr may be considering his options – particularly after a World Cup.
And it seems that Villa may well put themselves in the mix again.
