Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian full-back Emerson.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Reds are one of 14 clubs tracking the wonderkid, who has made waves for Atletico Mineiro since joining the club in April 2018.

Apparently Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Inter Milan, Porto, Valencia and Watford are just some of the teams keen to sign the highly promising full-back.
Emerson is under contract until 2022 and would likely cost a fortune to sign given his growing reputation.
If Liverpool managed to stave off the competition though, then it could prompt a change for an established first-teamer.
Emerson arrival could see Alexander-Arnold move into midfield
It will be interesting to see what kind of impact Emerson’s potential arrival at Anfield would have on Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Englishman has firmly established himself as the Reds’ first-choice right-back over the past couple of years, but Emerson would certainly heap the pressure on him to retain his place in the side.
One thing that could well happen is Emerson forces his way into the side, but not at the expense of Alexander-Arnold.
It has been frequently suggested (and most recently by pundit Martin Keown), that Alexander-Arnold has the technical qualities and passing range to perhaps operate as a holding midfield player.

With James Milner ageing and Adam Lallana tipped to leave in one of the next two windows, there could well be call for him to start plying his trade in the engine room.
If Emerson came in and quickly showed his capabilities, then it could give Jurgen Klopp something to consider.
