Emerson Royal left Tottenham squad in hysterics after Norwich win
Emerson Royal left the Tottenham Hotspur squad in hysterics after picking up Son Heung-min’s Premier League Golden Boot and pretending that he had won the award himself – in a brilliant video posted on the club’s Twitter account.
Sunday proved to be a brilliant day for a couple of reasons for Antonio Conte’s men. The main reason they were able to celebrate was the win that booked their ticket to next season’s Champions League.
Tottenham thrashed Norwich 5-0 to put to bed any notion that they would throw their top-four spot away at the last.
Son rounded off the win with the final two goals. And with that, the South Korean ensured that he would share the top goalscorer honour with Mohamed Salah.
Son has done amazingly well to catch Salah. He ended the campaign with 12 goals in his final 10 appearances. And it was clear just what the honour meant to him and his Tottenham teammates.
But one mistake the forward made came in the dressing room after full-time. Son brought his award and seemingly put it down after his post-match interview duties.
And with that, Emerson sensed an opportunity. In a video posted on the club’s Twitter account, the right-back picks up the award and starts to give an acceptance speech.

Emerson Royal left Tottenham squad in hysterics
It has not been the easiest first season in North London for Emerson. There have been times when he has really struggled. And it seemed ominous that Matt Doherty was able to force his way ahead of him in the pecking order.
But he has been much better since Doherty suffered a season-ending injury. If he stays next season, there is reason for optimism.
Clearly, he is a popular member of the squad. And Spurs fans can perhaps hope that having a full pre-season under Conte may just help the Brazilian go on and show why Tottenham signed him in the first place.
