Gary Neville has revealed what he considers to be his worst ever performance for Manchester United and the answer will have Leeds United fans smirking.

The former England defender conducted a quick question and answer session on his Twitter account yesterday evening. It comes ahead of this week’s Monday Night Football between Aston Villa and West Ham United.

He was asked what his worst Red Devils performance was and stated it was his display against Leeds United in the FA Cup.

It is assumed he meant the 1-0 loss at Old Trafford back in January 2010. At the time a League One side, Leeds won the game courtesy of a now-infamous Jermaine Beckford goal. Neville called his display ‘embarrassing’ and it was just over a year later that Neville called time on his illustrious career.

Of course, Leeds United fans will revel in this fact.

Leeds and Manchester United’s fierce rivalry is no secret and hearing that such a staple of the Sir Alex Ferguson generation has such negative memories of facing the Whites will only please fans.

Leeds supporters will hope they can inflict more damage on Manchester United in the near future, as they continue to look strong favourites for Championship promotion.
