Arsenal midfield Mohamed Elneny could still leave the Emirates Stadium before the end of the current transfer window.

Egyptian outlet ExtraSport have claimed the 28-year-old’s agent actually held talks with Galatasaray and Trabzonspor yesterday.

The development comes after Elneny made a surprisingly decent start to the 2020/21 season.

The former Basel star has been given a couple of chances against the odds by Mikel Arteta, who started him in the Community Shield against Liverpool and again in the first Premier League game against Fulham.

He was then replaced by Dani Ceballos for the second gam against West Ham United.

£50,000-a-week star Elneny (Spotrac) may feature tonight against Leicester City in the EFL Cup third round, and it may or may not be his final game in an Arsenal shirt.

TBR’s View – Has Arteta been putting Elneny in the shop window?

Perhaps Arteta’s reason for giving Elneny a chance against Liverpool and Fulham was in order to put him in the shop window.

Ultimately Arsenal need funds for other targets like Houssem Aouar or Thomas Partey, so sales are paramount for the Gunners.

With his couple of good displays in recent weeks, perhaps Arsenal will be able to demand slightly more from the likes of Gala and Trabzonspor.
