Tottenham Hotspur icon Gary Lineker has waxed lyrical about Son Heung-min following his milestone goal achievement in the Premier League on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs ran out 3-0 winners over Leeds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Son scoring one and assisting another.

Harry Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 29th minute after Ezgjan Alioski brought Steven Bergwijn down in the box.

Kane then turned provider with a cross from the right which Son swept in at the near post for his 100th Spurs goal just before the break.

And the South Korea star played a big role in Tottenham’s third, his corner met by Toby Alderweireld’s header and carried over the goalline by Leeds keeper Illan Meslier.

As well as notching up a century of competitive goals in the Spurs shirt since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has also registered 55 assists.

And Lineker was delighted with the 28-year-old’s exploits in English football over the years, culminating in Saturday’s impressive milestone.

Son is on 15 goals and eight assists from 24 Spurs appearances this season.

Up next for the North Londoners is Tuesday’s League Cup semi-final meeting with Championship Brentford.
