Anwar El Ghazi has told Sky Sports that Marcelo Bielsa is one of the best, while Emi Martinez labelled the Leeds United boss a maestro on Twitter following Aston Villa’s win at Elland Road on Saturday.
The Villans secured the three points in a frustrating afternoon for the Whites. El Ghazi got the decisive strike inside five minutes as he reacted fastest to Ollie Watkins’s pitch-disrupted effort on goal.
Leeds dominated possession and spent most of the second-half in Villa’s half. However, Martinez was rarely required as United struggled to produce a much-needed moment of quality.
Nevertheless, when El Ghazi was asked about Bielsa following the game, the attacker – who worked with the Argentinian at Lille – had nothing but positive words.
“I will have a chat with him inside. I have a very good relationship with him. He’s a very good coach. One of the best I’ve ever had. Unfortunately he did not win today,” he told Sky Sports.
Meanwhile, there was also a moment ahead of kick-off which saw Bielsa in conversation with Martinez. And the goalkeeper shared his own thoughts on social media later on in response to the clip.

Bielsa has certainly done an incredible job at Elland Road. Despite Saturday’s defeat, Leeds look set to finish well away from the bottom three in the Premier League.
And there seems to be plenty of optimism about the level Bielsa can take the club to. It is little surprise therefore, that rival players often have positive things to say about the Leeds boss.
