Eight potential ins and outs at Leeds United today

Leeds United could snap up some more new recruits before the close of the transfer window.

Leeds United have until 5pm today to make any permanent signings. The loan window remains open until the end of the month in the Championship, perhaps making today less of a panic. But, nonetheless, here is what could be happening at Elland Road on deadline day…

This morning The Mirror (print edition, 09/08/2018, pg  61) suggested Leeds United are keen on Bosnian international Mo Besic, with a £4.5 million deal being mooted. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Middlesbrough, who also want him. He has been told he can leave Everton and Leeds could see him as the perfect Ronaldo Vieira replacement.

Albert Adomah continues to be linked. As reported by Birmingham Live, Leeds and Boro are both keen on the Ghanaian winger. Contract talks with his current club Aston Villa have fallen through and he could be moved on.

Steven Caulker is also being linked with Leeds. The one-time England international is reportedly a target for Marcelo Bielsa. He is currently with Scottish side Dundee and the Daily Mirror (live blog 08/08/2018, 08:48), believe he could be tempted by a return to England.

Moussa Konate was also linked earlier this week, but it appears that deal is cooling down.

Matthew Pennington has been linked with a return from Everton but, as it is a loan move, will not be pushed today.

Leeds will also look to move some players out of the club. As reported by Leeds Live, the likes of Ouasim Buoy, Caleb Ekuban, Yosuke Ideguchi, Vurnon Anita and Eunan O’Kane have all been told they can leave this summer.

O’Kane is the only one seemingly attracting interest. As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Charlton Athletic want the midfielder. However, any of the five players could depart today.
