Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino should prioritise the club’s reported interest in Lille attacker Nicolas Pepe.

According to the Times, Spurs and North London rivals Arsenal are both keen on the 23-year-old goal machine.

The report details that Arsenal want to sign a new attacker following an injury to Danny Welbeck and Lille’s ace is valued at around £27million.

Spurs should try to beat Arsenal to the punch by going all out to try sign the Ivory Coast international in January and adding even more firepower going forward.

The right winger has scored eight goals and supplied seven assist in just 13 league games so far in the French top flight.

Pepe certainly looks destined to play at a higher level than Lille and his effectiveness in the final third makes him a potential bargain at £27million.

Spurs do have a decent selection of attacking players at their disposal, but Lucas Moura is the only one who sticks to the role of a traditional winger hugging the touchline and Pepe could bring more of that to the side.
