Brighton & Hove Albion
After the heartbreak of last season’s play off defeat, where Brighton fell injury ridden, the way they have responded and bounced back this season is a credit to the management, the squad and the togetherness they possess. The Seagulls’ fans couldn’t of hoped for a better first half of the season, losing just twice in 23 games, and remaining unbeaten as of the 10th September.
Last season, Brighton were always seen as the third best to Burnley and Middlesbrough, despite taking it to the last game of the season, they were never really front runners for promotion. This season they face an added expectation, which they have lived up to so far. The key for Brighton will be how they perform when the pressure is on, when every three points becomes so precious, and if the going gets tough, how they handle it.
Top of the bunch will be a new feeling in the Brighton camp, Chris Hughton will be the first to close the door on complacency, in order to do all he can to get Brighton to where they want to be. Glenn Murray and Sam Baldock’s goals, Anthony Knockaert’s sheer magic, and Lewis Dunk’s leadership from the back will be pivotal in Brighton achieving their ultimate goal of promotion. The return of Beram Kayal from injury will be a big boost too.
Best Moment – Birmingham 1-2 Brighton
Prediction – 2nd
