Arsenal could be in need of reinforcements up front next year.

Gunners duo Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are out of contract next summer and look likely to leave.

Therefore, Edu and Mikel Arteta could well be looking at new forward players with a view to a move next year.

Arsenal have been linked with one player who would be such an exciting proposition for Gunners fans if true.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are chasing Red Bull Salzburg ace Karim Adeyemi.

As well as the Gunners, Liverpool and Barcelona are also reportedly keen on the 19-year-old.

And Chelsea and Manchester City have also “shown interest” in the Salzburg ace, added the outlet.

Can Arsenal sign the new Haaland for less than £20million?

According to BILD, the Austrian giants value Adeyemi at around £17million – a bargain fee considering he’s effectively the new Erling Haaland at the club.

Adeyemi is one of the most promising young attacking players in European football.

At just 19, he boasts an impressive 36 goals and 29 assists from 101 competitive club appearances.

Adeyemi has also made his Germany breakthrough, scoring on his debut against Armenia in September.

The 2002-born ace played at youth level for TSV Forstenried, Bayern Munich and SpVgg Unterhaching before joining Salzburg in 2018.

Adeyemi spent the 2018-19 season on loan at feeder club FC Liefering, and the following season he played for both Liefering and Salzburg.

Last season, he became a regular with his parent club, replacing Haaland up front after his move to Borussia Dortmund.

Adeyemi plies his trade at centre-forward, but can also play on the wings and has been compared to Arjen Robben.

This is great news for Arteta, who’d be able to use him to lead the line, in a front two, or on the flanks of a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3.
