Edu now has perfect chance to bring 'unstoppable' star to Arsenal after London rivals failed in summer - TBR View

Arsenal have enjoyed a superb season so far, sitting five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

And in January, the Gunners have an amazing opportunity to bring one of this season’s breakthrough stars to the Emirates Stadium.

We’re talking, of course, about Shakhtar Donetsk forward Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The 21-year-old, who was linked with Arsenal in the summer, has never hidden his admiration for the Gunners.

Though Mudryk stayed put at Shakhtar, he kept speculation alive just days after the transfer window shut.

He told CBS Sports: “Yes, I think every guy dreams about playing in the Premier League.

“Arsenal is a very good team, very good coach. I like the way they play.

“Yes, from my side, I can’t say no, but a transfer is not only my decision.”

‘I’d probably choose Arsenal’

Now, Mudryk has once again spoken highly about Arsenal, in conversation with Vlada Sedan on YouTube, as translated by 90Min.

“From a purely hypothetical perspective if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal,” he told the journalist, who is married to Arsenal and Ukraine star Oleksandr Zinchenko.

“But it’s a tough question and involves a lot of factors in my answer. I would first want to know from the head coach that even if I wasn’t a guaranteed starter, that I’d receive a chance.

“Essentially I need to hear directly from the manager what he envisages my role in his side to be. ‘The team’s style of play will play a role. It’s very important to me.”

Specifically asked about Arsenal, Mudryk added, “I check on them on MyScore and know I can check on them when they’re playing.

“I also watch them too. They are a very dynamic side, in general not just in controlling possession but also in scoring goals.”

Mudryk said he spoke to Brentford, Nice and Bayer Leverkusen during the summer and was “upset” that a transfer never materialised.

“But as we can see now, God’s plan is better than my dreams,” he added.

Edu now has the perfect chance to bring the ‘unstoppable‘ Mudryk to Arsenal – he really seems to be wanting a move.

The Gunners director can surely succeed where Brentford – and Nice and Leverkusen – failed.
