Edu Gaspar and Jurrien Timber have both sent a message to Bukayo Saka after the winger’s display for Arsenal on Tuesday evening.

The Gunners dominated the game at the City Ground last night and eventually found a breakthrough just after the hour mark.

Gabriel Jesus finished expertly from a difficult angle to beat former Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner at his near post.

Bukayo Saka then doubled Arsenal’s advantage just seven minutes later with a tidy finish on his weaker foot.

Taiwo Awoniyi grabbed a late consolation goal for Nottingham Forest after a mix-up at the back from the Gunners. But Arsenal secured an important three points on the road to take them within two points of league leaders Liverpool.

And it’s fair to say that Saka impressed on the night, which has led to praise from sporting director Edu Gaspar and Jurrien Timber.

Saka took to Instagram last night and posted a picture of himself celebrating his goal at the City Ground.

His teammates flocked beneath the post, with the likes of Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes and Timber all leaving replies.

Arsenal endured a tough path of form over the festive period and new year. But Mikel Arteta’s men seem to be finding their best form once again.

The Gunners thrashed Crystal Palace 5-0 just 11 days ago and completely dominated the game at Forest last night.

Despite the close scoreline, Arsenal ran out deserved winners and consecutive wins in the league keep their hopes of landing the title well and truly alive.

Arteta will be encouraged by the recent upturn in form when it comes to his attacking players too.

It’s no secret that Arsenal were struggling for goals beforehand but they have now netted seven times in their last two games.
