Odsonne Edouard was on the receiving end of a poor challenge from Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna on Saturday; which threw his fitness into doubt for the Europa League clash with Red Bull Salzburg.
However, his team-mate Kieran Tierney has said he expects the hitman to be fit for the trip to Austria, and feels he has had a lucky escape.
The Scottish international said that Edouard is back in training and well placed to offer Brendan Rodgers a major boost ahead of the match.
He added that the tackle is one of those every pro hopes to avoid, stating that he was fortunate to be more badly hurt.
After a faltering start to their title defence, tumbling out of the Champions League and a shambolic transfer window; Rodgers could do with putting together a strong European campaign.
Celtic’s away form in Europe is a long-standing issue; they can compete with the very best at Parkhead but struggle badly on their travels.
Rodgers is a shrewd enough manager who improves players enough to get Celtic doing that; but he needs his best weapons available.
Edouard certainly falls into that category and his manager has been almost as fortunate as he has.
