Eddie Nketiah has sent his best wishes to supporters of both Arsenal and Leeds United after making his return to Elland Road for Sunday’s draw between the two teams.
Nketiah would have been forgiven for having additional motivation ahead of the contest. The striker spent the first-half of last season on loan with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Ultimately, the loan did not work out as planned. But Nketiah scored three crucial goals in the Championship. And he was handed a chance with Arsenal upon his return to the Emirates in January.
He may have earmarked Sunday’s game as one to look out for when the fixtures were announced in the summer. And he was named on the bench by Mikel Arteta.
Unfortunately for Nketiah, he was not called upon in the goalless draw. Arteta did not get the chance to use his substitutes as he would have wanted with Nicolas Pepe being sent off and Bukayo Saka having to come off injured after coming on himself during the second-half.
Nevertheless, it would appear that it was still an experience that Nketiah enjoyed.
The striker responded to a post from Leeds’s official Twitter account showing him embracing Tyler Roberts ahead of the game.
And as well as commenting on the photo, Nketiah also sent a classy message to both sets of fans…
Good to see some friendly faces, hope both sets of fans are keeping safe. 🙏🏾 ❤️ https://t.co/xzu50QIvFX
