Arsenal roared to victory in their Europa League game against Rapid Vienna, securing a 4-1 victory to guarantee themselves top spot in Group B after five straight victories.

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Pablo Mari, Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe ensured a comfortable night for the Gunners in front of 2000 supporters for the first time since March.

Arsenal have been in g great from in Europe but that has proved a stark contrast to their league campaign which has left them languishing in 14th place in the table.

Nketiah grabbed his fourth goal of the season last night and the 21-year-old will hope to kick on and bag a few more as the campaign progresses.

Following his goal last night he posted a message on Instagram and received praise from Tyler Roberts, who he played with during his loan spell at Leeds United last season.

Nketiah was tipped to take the Championship by storm last season when he checked in at Elland Road for the 2019/20 campaign.

The youngster simply couldn’t impress Marcelo Bielsa sufficiently to force his way into the team ahead of Patrick Bamford.

Challenge

Nketiah scored five goals in 19 appearances during his loan spell but was recalled in January with Mikel Arteta keen to take a look at the player.

At 21, there is still plenty of time for the youngster to hit the goal trail on a more frequent basis.

The real challenge he faces at the moment is getting into the team regularly. He has started every game in the Europa League but has started just once in the Premier League.

It’s not totally out of the question that the academy talent might go on another loan at some point – especially if Arsenal add to their squad in future transfer windows.
